Rinchen Dawa

Rinchen Dawa, 23 from Bhutan is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Counseling at Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, Thimphu. Mental health is both personally and professionally a close topic to his life. He had experience in the field of mental health in various NGOs such as RENEW (Respect, Educate, Nurture and Empower Women), NCWC (National Commission for Women and Children) and Rehabilitation centers. Besides, the psychiatric department in Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital implanted him with a variety of mental health disorders and their unique features that boosted his passion and love for the people suffering from mental health. Y-PEER Bhutan and Asia Safe Abortion Partnership programme also provided him with an insight about the wellbeing and welfare of the youth in terms of their body that resulted in lot of mental issues. He believed, “Mental health is less visible because it is censored with stigma and discrimination. In simple terms, mental health is a vital health that requires immediate support just like physical health. It is easier to say ‘I have a stomach ache’ than to say ‘I have anxiety. From this campaign, he desired to break the stigma and reach out to people with his utmost love and empathy. He also believed in making differences in one person’s life.

Chung ku

Mr. Chung Ku, is a core member and Mentor of Me for Myself (2021). He is currently serving as Assistant Student Service Officer and GCBS Y-PEER Advisor in Gedu College of Business Studies, one of the Government Colleges in Bhutan. As he is zealous in building positive relationships with youths, for the past 4 years he (As Advisor/Guidance) has been supporting youths in learning and has better intellectual outcomes.  His curiosity in coordinating physical programs/events has undid success and recorded as many achievements. He actively participates in M4M to learn, share experiences and conduct programs relating to mental health in his native places.

Maria Iqbal Shah

Miss Maria Iqbal Shah, is a core member and Mentor of Me for Myself (2021 V 3:0 Batch II & III) is a student of the BScN program, Aga Khan University, Pakistan. She is passionate about learning new things such as mental health, sexual reproductive health, and rights, history, and culture. Besides, her skills, teamwork abilities, and experiences made her able to be an enthusiastic core member and mentor of M4M. She had participated in different national and international volunteer programs, competitions, and projects. She believes being a core member and mentor of M4M is a milestone for her career. As a core member and mentor, she will try her best to be the rainbow in someone’s cloud. She aims to be a successful nurse in the future and She will try her best to make this world a better place to live for everyone.

Aastha Acharya

Ms Aastha Acharya is a law student currently pursuing her bachelor degree. She is passionate and interested in working for mental health. She wants to create a safe space where mental health is not stigmatized. She wants to learn more about mental health and give back to her community and promote mental wellbeing. She was a volunteer in batch 1, core volunteer in batch II and now a core member and mentor in batch III.

Fura Gelzen Sherpa

Fura Gelzen Sherpa, 25 from Nepal is a founding member of the M4M program.  He is a board member  at Y-PEER Nepal. Having a background in the tourism & youth sector, he has been actively working to promote SRHR, Mental health, Youth participation and SDGs in Nepal.  He had mostly been working on ICPD25 as a regional youth advocate. Through M4M, Fura hopes & believes that Mental health awareness among young people is very important. In Order to support his vision Fura believes that you can contribute wherever you are.
