priya rauniyar

Priya Rauniyar is from Kathmandu, Nepal. She has done few social works before and has also done volunteering work in an old age home for a week.

She learned the importance of mental health later in her life when she was in her high school. Meeting the standards created by society today makes such a huge impact on people’s mind and life. We all must learn to keep up with these but without letting it consume us from within. Rather she learnt that every individual must prioritize to focus on our peace of mind and whole being to create our own attainable goals. This is when she started to get more interested in mental health issues and creating awareness in people.

sana asghar

Past a few years Sana Asghar has been engaged in many activities related to raising awareness for youth, for example mentoring of youth, peer education, peer counseling, abortion stigma, and many societal taboos. When she sums up all situations in a broader aspect, they all are interrelating with each other and have a direct connection with mental health.  She said “We all are facing many problems and suffering but our youths are more exposed to MH issues that is why I started doing counselling.” First, she got training for herself then she started my journey with her peers in university than for the school and out of school kids and it is also the reason why  she has joined M4M.

sanju maharjan

Sanju Maharjan is pursuing her undergraduate degree in public health at Institute of Medicine. Having been surrounded by people who have been involved in medicine, she was surprised when these people were so ignorant about mental health issues and the ones facing problems were stigmatized. That’s when she realized the lack of knowledge and awareness about mental health issues. It’s time that we prioritize our mental health, speak about it without having to face any kind of discrimination and stigmatization and help create world a better place to live in.

Already this year has been a globally critical year which has tremendously along with the physical health that affects the mental health of people which indicates that now serious steps must be needed to take for sorting mental health issues immediately.
